Trade safety
How we protect you
- Escrow: the seller is never paid before the item reaches the buyer.
- Automatic refunds if the seller doesn't send the item within 12 hours.
- Trade-reversal protection: Steam lets senders undo a trade for 7 days. Seller funds are held 8 days and we re-check the buyer's inventory before releasing them.
- Every listing is verified against the seller's live Steam inventory, again when you buy, and refunded at once if it was sold elsewhere.
- Trade URLs are checked to belong to the account that saved them.
- Steam trade bans, account age and suspicious activity are checked continuously.
- Card payments use 3-D Secure; withdrawals go only to identity-verified Stripe accounts.
How to stay safe
- Only sign in through steamcommunity.com. Check the address bar.
- Never share your Steam API key, Steam Guard codes or password with anyone — we will never ask.
- Before accepting a trade, check the other person's Steam name and SteamID match the order page.
- Never accept an offer that asks you to give items as a buyer.
- Ignore anyone contacting you about an order on Discord or Steam chat. All communication happens on the order page.
- If you see a Steam API key you didn't create at steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey, revoke it immediately.
